Gillingham Neighbourhood Plan

Working for Gillingham's future

If you live or work in Gillingham or visit the town for shopping, schools, travel or leisure, you will be interested in the future of the town. As one of the market towns in North Dorset, Gillingham probably also plays an important part in your life if you live in any of the villages surrounding the town.

If you want to influence how Gillingham will evolve both in the short and long term this website will help you to become informed and contribute to the many issues that can make Gillingham a thriving place to be!

At the Town Council's Extraordinary Full Council Meeting on 13th February 2017 they received and considered the final revised draft of the Gillingham Neighbourhood Plan. The Council agreed that the plan (click here for the plan and on the links below for higher resolution version of various maps in the plan) with any further changes be adopted for submission to North Dorset District Council along with the necessary supporting information.

The Gillingham Neighbourhood Plan Group was delegated with commencing the submission of all documentation on behalf of Gillingham Town Council and in consultation with the Mayor/Chairman of the Planning Committee, agree with North Dorset District Council the appointment of an independent examiner.

The Plan and supporting documents were submitted to North Dorset District Council on Friday 28th July.  When acknowledgement has been received from the Council all documents will  be available to view on this website.
